County Stroke Averages

County Stroke Averages

This table ranks players based on their performance against course difficulty in qualifying competitions, covering both Men’s and Junior categories. It serves as a key reference point to help inform team selection, particularly at Under 18 and Men’s level.

By default, only rounds played within the previous 12 months are included. Players must have returned scores from a minimum of three separate qualifying events to be eligible for inclusion.

The Age Group filter enables you to view players who are eligible for specific teams. When accessing the table on a tablet, laptop, or desktop, you can also refine the data further by adjusting the date range and minimum number of qualifying rounds or events.

Course difficulty is determined using elements of the World Handicap System, specifically the Course Rating combined with the Playing Conditions Calculation (PCC). Prior to 2021, this was measured using the Competition Standard Scratch (CSS).

Rounds recorded as No Returns (NRs) or Disqualifications (DQs) are not included in scoring averages, but they are still considered as part of the overall selection process.

The full list of events can be seenHERE, but will be comprised of all national and regional events as well as the full list of events on the County Order Of Merit series.

Should you feel that an event you are competing in should count towards the stroke average table, we would be happy to consider including new tournaments. You must, however, indicate the event before the competition begins.
