The U16's Team needed a strong performance to come out on top of their league when we faced Surrey and Kent at Petersfield GC on Sunday 28th June. Thanks to some brilliant preparation and a real 'can do' attitude the boys in blue dealt with the pressure amazingly well and came out as 4.5-3.5 Winners in the all important match vs Kent that sealed the win in the league. Surrey managed to pip Hampshire by a point but, thankful to some extremely tight matches going our way through the year, and Kent beating Surrey on the day, Hampshire had done enough to get through to the league final at the end of the Summer.
A massive thanks to all of the management team- Dave Porter and Steve Batten as well as the professional staff- coaches Kevin Saunders, Adam Glass, Nathan Cook, Kev Caplehorn, Kev Flynn and Barney Wytchard have all played a part in the success of the team this year. Also a huge thank you to all of the players (and their Parents!!) for all of the hard work since the winter in training sessions and throughout the spring/summer in fixtures so far. We can't wait to get cracking on preparation for the league final at the end of September!
Well done all!
