Hampshire Seniors Team at Army GC on Wednesday 8th April
Jersey Seniors team at Army GC on Wednesday 8th April.
Alan Drayton (Seniors Manager) reports.....
After a fantastic 2 days of weather, and 2 days of - in the main - very competitive golf, Hampshire Seniors got their noses in front and have regained the John Nettell trophy for the annual match between the Hampshire based Seniors and the Jersey based seniors.
Both days games were played in a friendly yet very competitive spirit, and we are grateful to both Clubs for allowing us Tee time to play this challenge match.
Day One and Army GC was in fine condition with greens that were a tad slower than the Jersey players were used to.
Hampshire finished the day 5 holes up (every game being played to a finish).
The weather was even warmer at Hockley for Day Two and the course was in excellent condition with greens which were a little quicker. Nevertheless the Hampshire Team continued it's fine form and snuck home by a further 4 holes up.
So overall the Hampshire Team won by 9 holes up - taking full advantage of 'Home advantage'.
