Tough at the top! Hampshire’s first team started their league campaign with an always competitive fixture vs Kent Golf away at Lamberhurst GC.
Nothing split the teams after the morning foursomes matches and the singles began with both teams gaining 2 points from the first session.
A back and forth singles saw the boys in blue battle from the off, going behind in the leading 2 matches before mounting a comeback towards the end which wasn’t quite enough as we finished the day 1 points short at 6.5-5.5.
As always, Kent hosted us superbly and the matches were played in competitive but high spirits.
Onwards and upwards for the next match which takes place in June vs Sussex.
Huge shout out to our 3x rookie players making their league debuts- Mitch Bligh, Jack Warren and Albie Beeston, the latter being one of only a handful of juniors to play first team county golf- let alone to pick up 2 points from 2 in his first ever league match!
Huge thanks to @taylormade_tour and @adidasgolf for kitting the guys out and to @1upgolfacademy for going the extra mile in prepping the team.
