Harrison Pake and the Challenge League Team and Support staff after their triumphant final display at Leatherhead GC
A fitting end to the men’s league season as our challenge team faced Essex after both counties topped their groups in their respective regions. In a fixture that has plagued Hampshire the last 3 outings, having come runner up each time, today was our turn as the boys in blue went 4-0 up in the morning foursomes and set an early statement of intent.
A strong early singles order kept the momentum going into the afternoon as points came in thick and fast throughout as the team closed out an emphatic 10-2 victory.
Huge congratulations to captain Harrison Pake, who kept to the ethos of the challenge league in using a mix of experience but also- importantly- youth within the team by playing 4 U18’s in the team this weekend. Thanks to all competitors and supporters throughout the year and of course Kevin Flynn for his continued and unwavering dedication to the cause.
